With this “DIY blueprint” of a checklist, their bedroom experiment officially began. They decided not to spend a lot of money on expensive props, but instead to create something new using what they already had at home:
Tactile desensitization experiment: Ahang blindfolded Ziqing with one of her silk scarves. When her vision was taken away, Ziqing found that Ahang’s familiar kisses and the sensation of his fingertips tracing her thighs were magnified tenfold, and her heart was beating as fast as if she were experiencing first love.
Temperature Game: Ahang held an ice cube that had just been taken out of the refrigerator in his mouth and then kissed Ziqing’s neck. The extreme contrast between the ice and body temperature made Ziqing unable to help but let out a soft cry.
Breaking the boundaries of time and space: That Saturday noon, Ahang was watching a football game in the living room. Ziqing came into the living room after taking a shower, and without saying a word, simply straddled his lap. Before nightfall, without the unchanging bedside lamp, sunlight streamed through the curtains and fell upon them. It was a long-awaited, passionate afternoon revelry.
Epilogue: The best DIY is falling in love with each other again in the present moment.
Several months have passed, and the relationship between Ziqing and Ahang has undergone subtle changes.
They stopped worrying about “how many times” they did it each week, and stopped using it as a way to release stress. Instead, their relationship became a creative playground just for the two of them.
In a hug afterward, Ah Hang stroked Zi Qing’s hair and said, “Wife, I feel like we’ve gone back to when we first started dating, and we even understand each other better than before.”
Ziqing leaned against his chest and smiled contentedly.
This “DIY sex life” transformation project, on the surface, changes the environment, props, and techniques, but what it truly repairs are two hearts that have gradually closed off in their weary lives, yet yearn to be moved by each other again.
